Full Steam Ahead

Things are really moving lately. I was gone for a week for Thanksgiving and it was fun to come back to some real changes.

The painting crew is currently painting the exterior of the house, the trim and the shutters. When I went by right after getting home from vacation all the cabinets had been delivered and were in the living room waiting for their new homes!

The kids and I dropped by this afternoon and there were so many guys working that I could only take a quick peek inside and snap a couple photos.

Here is what has been going on since the last post.

shutters removed for painting.

Digging in the dirt and drywall

Well the kids are getting excited now that the house is looking and feeling more like a real house. However, dirt remains their number one fascination.

The siding is completed on all but the front of the house and Jeff's garage. They do still have to paint it though. The drywall is totally done and the septic tank and field are in. There is still some tree clearing to be done.

There have been several things not done correctly the first time but I have caught them before things got too far along. I guess going by the house daily is actually paying off. They work so fast that if I didn't go by every day things might be done incorrectly and have to be redone.

Waiting for insulation and drywall

Not much interesting is happening at the house until they put the insulation in and drywall up. I still go by almost every day. I can see small things happening but they just aren't very exciting. I know once the walls are up that it will be something worth sharing. Until then, I have some not so exciting photos to share.

I think this is the water line. Is it supposed to be that small a pipe? I assumed a water line to the house was bigger.

We were able to get the builder to put in a drop down stair ladder for the attic access instead of a panel access.  Now it hangs out in the garage till they need it. It looks lonely.

They put the pipe in the wrong place for the water heater. We freaked out thinking that we wouldn't be able to park a car in that bay, but the builder assured us they would fix it and put the water heater on the stand you see in the corner and wall it off.
Pipe is gone. YAY!

No idea what "WS" inspection is, but we were disapproved. Hope it gets corrected soon!
