Jim the Builder

Jeff and I met with Jim, our builder this afternoon. We got a babysitter for the kids and were able to sit down in the model home and go over every detail of the plans for our home and our upgrades/selections. We also went over the anticipated building schedule. They strive to have your home ready to close 48 work days from the day they start framing. Work day means Monday-Friday.

Framing was supposed to start today, but they are waterproofing the crawl space today and tomorrow and they are hopeful that framing will start this week. IF framing starts by next Monday, we are looking at a December 24th closing. I asked about the holidays and Jim said if the lawyer's office is open, then closings happen... Are lawyers open on Christmas eve? I hope not. If framing starts this week then we are looking at December 21st. Hmmm, these are not great moving dates. I guess if it takes longer than expected, then the first couple of weeks of January wouldn't be so bad. Probably, better even.

This post is not picture intensive unless you want pictures of us staring at plans on a table. Kind of boring. Here are two pictures of Jeff and Jim the Builder walking the lot.

All the framing materials are here. There are a ton of materials behind the foundation you can't see. Let's go!!!

Jeff on the right, Jim the Builder on the left. Talking manly building stuff.
